This July, we’ve crafted a series of exciting cooking classes tailored for kids aged 6-12, designed to inspire a lifelong love for cooking and healthy eating.

School Holiday Program Perth 2024
Kids Kitchen Week 1:
Monday 1st July: Smoothie, Pizza, Chocolate Muffins
Kick off the week with a delicious and nutritious start! On Monday, our budding chefs will learn how to make vibrant smoothies packed with fruits and vegetables, ensuring they get their vitamins in a tasty way. Following the smoothie session, they will move on to making their own pizzas from scratch. From kneading the dough to choosing their favorite toppings, this hands-on activity will teach them the basics of cooking while sparking their creativity. Finally, the kids will end the day on a sweet note by baking chocolate muffins, learning essential baking techniques and having fun decorating their delicious creations.

Wednesday 3rd July: Mexican Fiesta - Tortillas, Mexican Mince, Guacamole
Wednesday is all about exploring bold flavors with our Mexican Fiesta day! Kids will start by making fresh tortillas, learning how to roll and cook them to perfection. Next, they’ll prepare a flavorful Mexican mince, discovering how to blend spices and ingredients to create a tasty dish. To complement their meal, the young chefs will make guacamole from scratch, mastering the art of mashing avocados and seasoning them just right. This session not only introduces kids to new flavors but also teaches them about the cultural significance of Mexican cuisine.

Thursday 4th July: Mini Burgers, Lemon Slice, Fruit Skewers
Thursday brings a mix of savory and sweet delights! Our mini burger session will have the kids crafting their own patties, choosing from a variety of ingredients to create the perfect burger. This hands-on activity is perfect for teaching kids about portion control and the importance of balanced meals. For dessert, they’ll make refreshing lemon slices, a perfect balance of tart and sweet. To top off the day, the kids will prepare fruit skewers, learning about the importance of incorporating fruits into their diet and enjoying the vibrant colors and flavors.

Kids Kitchen Week 2:
Tuesday 9th July: Chicken Nuggets, Apple Pie, Hummus
Tuesday is all about comfort food with a healthy twist. Kids will start by making homemade chicken nuggets, using fresh ingredients and learning healthier cooking methods. This activity is a great way to show kids that their favorite foods can be made healthier and still taste amazing. For dessert, they’ll bake an apple pie, learning pastry skills and the joys of working with fresh fruits. Additionally, they’ll make hummus, a nutritious dip that’s perfect for snacking. This session emphasizes the importance of balanced meals and healthy snacking options.

Thursday 11th July: Vegetable Fried Rice, Mini Quiches, Bliss Balls
We wrap up the program with a day of variety and nutrition. Kids will learn to make vegetable fried rice, a dish that’s both delicious and packed with nutrients. They’ll discover how to incorporate a variety of vegetables and the importance of a balanced diet. Next, they’ll prepare mini quiches, perfect for learning about different fillings and baking techniques. Finally, the kids will make bliss balls, a healthy snack that’s fun to create and delicious to eat. This session highlights the versatility of cooking and the importance of enjoying a variety of foods.
