Sweet Sweet Dairy Free Nutella
I am not sure I have met anyone that does not love Nutella! It is a tasty spread that can be added to toast, pancakes or simply spooned straight from the jar if you are anything like my minis!
The beauty of this homemade version is it is easy to make, is free from dairy and other top allergens and it is a much healthier option than the original, with less than half the sugar content!
This snack is perfect for mamas following an elimination diet that does not include hazelnuts or coconut.
Ingredients
200g raw hazelnuts
2 Tbsp cacao powder
1 Tbsp coconut oil
3 Tbsp maple syrup
Pinch of salt
Water as required
How to Create
1. Pre-heat oven to 150 degrees Celsius.
2. Place the raw hazelnuts into the baking dish and place in the oven. Dry-roast the hazelnuts for 10 minutes, remove the baking tray from the oven and allow to cool slightly.
3. Place the hazelnuts onto a clean tea towel and rub them to remove the skins.
4. Place the hazelnuts and the coconut oil into a food processor and blend on medium-high speed until smooth and creamy.
5. Add the cacao, maple syrup and salt and blend for a further minute. If not as smooth as desired, slowly add water and blend until consistency is achieved.
6. Spoon the Nutella into a clean air-tight glass jar and store in the pantry.
7. Can be stored in the fridge.
